Over the past two decades, Briar Ridge Country Club has established itself as the premier address of Northwest Indiana. With so much of the original development now sold out, it is with great pride that we would like to unveil the twenty-three acre portion known as -Unit 16. Unit 16 features all the benefits of the country club including the twenty-seven holes of championship golf, four tennis courts with professional instruction, club house with fine dining, olympic sized swimming pool, and the security and privacy of living within a gated community. Furthermore, recent improvements have been made to Unit 16 to make it as desirable as any real estate within the current community. First, as requested by the majority of homeowners, Unit 16 is accessed by a picturesque bridge from Royal Dublin rather than an additional Main St. gate as was originally proposed. Because Unit 16 has been limited to 39 lots the increased traffic on Royal Dublin, Portmarnock, and Killarney will be minimal. Meticulous attention to detail has been paid during the construction of the bridge to ensure its enduring charm. For example, the retaining walls were made larger than necessary and crafted out of an attractive stone to create an elegant facade. Pipes that were to run alongside the bridge were instead bored under the creek in order to be hidden from view. The steel side rails are not only functional but also a work of art. Also, over one hundred mature trees and evergreens have been transplanted into Unit 16, securing privacy and scenic views for years to come. More trees have been purchased and will be added. Finally, an elegantly bubbling fountain is set for construction in the center of the winding cul de sac that accesses the homes increasing the development's prestige.
Unit 16 comprises of 39 exclusively single family lots, many of which are larger than standard Briar Ridge lots, in three diverse settings. First, there are golf course lots with sweeping views that will never be obstructed by future construction. With such a limited number of golf course lots remaining within the entire community, this is truly one of the final opportunities to build your own custom golf course sanctuary. The second type of lots, those that border the gently meandering creeks intersecting the plat, provide ideal sites for a naturalist's haven. The creeks are heavily wooded, and as a result, offer unequivocal privacy. The third type provides the option of a lot larger than a typical Briar Ridge lot or one smaller for those desiring a cottage sized site. Many of these lots are bordered by trees and evergreens.
In addition to the homes of individual lot owners, there are two model homes which are slated for construction in the very near future. The first is the Stephen Fuller designed "Ultimate Entertainment Home" which was originally constructed in Wisconsin as a joint venture between Kohler Co. and Food and Wine Magazine. The second is Dan Sater's "Isabella," a masterpiece of Tuscan design that seamlessly blends indoor and outdoor living space. For those interested in building custom homes it is important to note that due to our desire to protect the investment of all Briar Ridge residents we can not accommodate homes smaller than 4,000 sq. ft. on the golf course lots or homes smaller than 3,000 sq. ft. on creek side lots. However, ranches at 2,500 sq. ft. and two-stories at 3,000 sq. ft. may be built on other lots within the development. Lot purchasers are free to choose their own builders and building timeframes.
